The city of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, has a rich history and is home to several historical sites. The city was founded in 1811 as the county seat for Rutherford County. Today, it is one of the fastest-growing cities in the U.S.

One of the oldest sites in the city is Old City Cemetery. Old City Cemetery contains the remains of the original First Presbyterian Church, burial ground, and first public cemetery (1837).
