A growing suburb

Brentwood is located in Williamson County. The affluent suburban area is home to more than 45,000 residents.

Brentwood was incorporated as a city in 1969. Around that time, interstate 65 was built through the area, creating vast residential and commercial growth. It made commuting to Nashville much easier. The population was less than 4,000 in 1970.

Among the residents of Brentwood are notable celebrities and corporate CEOs, including musicians and current and retired athletes. The list includes Dolly Parton, Trace Adkins, Garth Brooks, Luke Bryan, Carrie Underwood, Kerry Collins, Mookie Betts, P.K. Subban, Dawson Knox, Mike Fisher, and Keith Bullock.

The city has a land area of 40.8 square miles thanks to annexation in 2001.

Brentwood’s top employers include Hospital Corporation of America, Comdata, Tractor Supply Company, AT&T, and DaVita Inc.

A few of Williamson County high schools are ranked among the best in the state by U.S. News. They include Brentwood High School and Ravenwood High School.

Located in Brentwood, the Maryland Farms complex has an award-winning architecture and first-class property management. The complex offers business owners a central location that’s just minutes away from downtown Nashville and Interstate 65. It also features enhanced service and on-site building maintenance.

The Maryland Farms complex is a class-A suburban office portfolio consisting of three four-story buildings. The office park features abundant amenities, including a courtyard and sun-filled atrium.

Brentwood is home to an astronomical observatory on the highest mountain, which is open to the public for tours. For those who are not into astronomy, there are other activities and places to see in the area.

Brentwood has several parks in the city. The most notable and largest are Concord Park and Crockett Park.

The Boiling Spring Academy is a historical landmark in Brentwood. This one-room schoolhouse was built in 1832 on land that was once home to Indian mounds. It was first used as a private school and then became a public school in 1887. Around 1900, it was also used as a multi-denominational church. In the late 1910s, it ceased to serve as a school. In fact, the building was later used as a store by the Primm family who owned the surrounding farmland.

The Boiling Spring Academy is a National Register of Historic Places listing.

You can also find the historic Ravenswood Mansion and Cool Springs House in Brentwood. These venues are popular for weddings, corporate events, and other gatherings.
